What you will do:
At Judd Refrigeration you will be an integral part of our reactive Service Technician team, working across a range of sites, including NZ Defence, Massey University, Mid Central District Health, NZ Police, Toyota NZ and more. You will be supported through an induction programme, building connections with our clients, learning about their sites, plant and our processes for reactive and planned maintenance and repair.
As part of a team, you will be responsible for:
- Delivering skilled reactive fault finding, diagnostic, repair, service and maintenance to heating, air conditioning, ventilation and refrigeration systems, to a high-quality level without call backs.
- Commissioning and calibration of HVAC & R systems and their associated controls, completing quality assurance procedures and hand over to the client.
- Making recommendations to clients whether repair or replacement of plant is the more viable option. Collating detailed information to liaise with the Project Administrator for quote repairs and replacements.
- Effectively using the Simpro App for scheduled works and all on-job documentation, field notes, site/plant information and photographs.
- Preparation of the job – including reading of relevant job notes and documentation, communication with the client and other relevant parties, co-ordination of parts, materials, plant and tools prior to attending site.
- Participating on the on-call roster and delivering reliable, effective after-hours fault finding and repair works for our clients.
- Maintaining a well organised and stocked van, including the ordering of relevant parts for service and maintenance jobs.
- Working collaboratively and effectively as a team player - carrying out assigned jobs, sharing expertise, skills, knowledge and providing support to colleagues, applying creative and innovative problem solving, and contributing in team meetings.
- Maintaining safe work practices and participating in tool box talks, site inductions, Health and Safety reporting, as required.
- Adhering to all Health and Safety procedures, including hazard identification, and site-specific protocols, the use of correct PPE & access equipment.

Here’s what we need from you:
- Relevant HVAC or Refrigeration qualification and experience in the industry (Applicants in their final year of apprenticeship are welcome to apply)
- Current clean NZ Drivers Licence
- Electrical Service Technician License
- Refrigerant Handlers License
- Site Safe Passport, EWRB and Working at Heights certification would be an advantage
- Strong work ethic, with a meticulous eye for detail and pride in your work
- Excellent communication and people skills, going the extra mile for clients and colleagues
